Planning permission for detached house in Conservation Area

Planning permission has been granted for our detached house for Clifton College. The brownfield site lies within Bristol City’s Clifton and Hotwells Conservation Area.

Detailed proposals for this unique house were developed swiftly following a feasibility study in Spring 2023 for the site, currently home to a garage, shed and driveway.

Drawing on established typologies, we designed a fairly traditional house externally, to sit in harmony with the existing architecture of the conservation area. Internally, we included a large kitchen / dining / living space at ground floor to suit contemporary lifestyles.

Thanks to client representative, Paul Williams, for trusting our skills and experience on a potentially contentious site. Also to Colin Pemble of Aspect360 Ltd - planning consultants, Ann Byatt of Johns Associates - ecology, Mike Andrews of Energy Saving Experts - energyAssessors and Adam Butler of Integral Building Control Solutions Ltd - approved inspectors.
